Giba Gorge Birthday Weekend
Giba Gorge MTB Park situated 20 minutes out of Durban below Marionhill Toll Plaza, celebrated their Birthday over the weekend. The day started off around 7am with a buzz of riders arriving to take part in the XC event held at Giba, as well as bring along family and friends to enjoy what the park had to offer. The weather couldnt have been any better with the sun out South African style. Morewood were there to display their bikes as well as show off the all new Marathon and XC Hardtail. There was huge buzz around the Marathon and Hardtail and Morewood Bikes were the highlight of the day!
Jonty Neethling, Morewood Factory Rider, arrived from Cape Town to spend the week up here with us, so we built his bike up and sent him down the DH course at Giba along with Travis Browning and myself to show everyone what DH is all about. Another highlight of the day was the Dirt Jump session on the freshly built jump lines by Collin Loudin and other great SA BMX legends. Our two XC riders Roan Exelby and Dave Leiman took part in the XC race and ended up finishing really well. James Reid (Mr Price/Scott) is riding like a demon and took 1st with Dave coming in a close 2nd and Roan 3rd overall, so well done to them!
