TEAM KENDA/MOREWOOD IN QUEBEC - MONT SAINTE-ANNA WC

Santa Cruz Syndicate’s Steve Peat celebrates his 50th career UCI Downhill podium by placing 2nd in the UCI World Cup Downhill in Mt. Ste. Anne, Quebec. Not a stellar weekend, but “Old School” pulled it together for the Syndicate and Minnaar is licking his wounds. Sam Hill takes the win and the leader’s jersey going into Bromont next week. Aaron Gwin has his first career UCI podium and Gee, Fabien, Sam, and Steve destroyed him with a champagne blast. The riders were greeted with a new downhill track with a lot of changes from year’s prior. The track is still … Read More »

Morewood Enza - Day 1

I stopped Dirt Jumping in 2002.

I had a BB snap on the face of a double :0  The ensuing super man without the bike was fun until I slammed my hip into the concrete hard transition.  It took 2 weeks for the bruising to come out and another 2 before I could walk properly.  Next weekend I snapped my ACL … Read More »

BALANCE

words and photos: Gary Barnard

Balance is natural.

Why then it it so hard for us humans to achieve?

I recently took part in the South African championships.  I wanted to get enough UCI points so that I could qualify for the World Cup in Pietermaritzberg so I decided to race in the Elite class (I am 33…).  I have also just had a beautiful baby girl with my extremely supportive and understanding wife Noon.

The day BOS arrived

words and photos: Gary Barnard

Have you ever wanted something for your whole life?

Have ever wanted something for your whole life sadly knowing that you probably will never have it?

That is how I felt about BOS suspension.  Interestingly enough not everyone knows about BOS, their history and the prestige that accompanies it!

In my life BOS started off as the “No Name” single crown forks and huge rear shocks that the Sunn Chippie team used.  It then turned into the super sexy dual crown forks on the front of some crazy french dual slalom racer at the Stellenbosch world cup in ‘98 … Read More »

JONTY NEETHLING GIVES US SOME FEEDBACK

Hi Guys
Hope everyone is doing well.
After 3 weeks in Europe racing the World Cups I’m finally home to prepare for the World Champs in Australia in September.
The 4th Round of the Downhill World Cup was held in Fort William Scotland, as we all know that track is rough and long and really takes its toll on the bikes and the body. I was feeling really good in practice and knew i could put together a good result if i could hang on. In qualifying I had a pretty big crash near the top and never got a rhythm going again … Read More »
