CAPE PIONEER TREK - ROAN EXELBY

When I saw the images of the route on the CPT website , it was too much to resist. Sure, according to traditional periodisation and old school training regimen, you should be resting at this time of year… but this year has been a bit different for me. And sometimes you just have to follow your heart ! Besides - we do it for the love of biking man ! Who can resist riding in such splendour !??

I rode with Donovan “Powerhouse” Jackson. If you were born anytime in the 70’s or earlier, you will recall a clothing brand with … Read More »

WORLD CHAMPS - CANBERRA AUSTRALIA

The weekend was wrapped up with Peaty taking Gold. The course was super rocky and filled with buck jumps with lines continuously changing as practice wore on.
After taking a bit of time off to prepare, Nathan came into World Champs having put in a considerable amount of training looking strong and focussed, which paid off in the end. Having a little off during practice, Rennie ended up with eight stiches in his hand and having to do a bit of iceing a few days before race day, but this didnt stop him from pulling in a top 10 result. The … Read More »

BUKIT CERMIN DOWNHILL CHALLENGE – KUALA LUMPUR

AG Suspansions Clive Ackerman gives us some feedback as to whats happening in Malaysian DH:

Race events in Malaysia have been rather few and far between this year, for a number of reasons, but the 4th installment of the Bukit Cermin Downhill Challenge has fast become a much anticipated event on the racing calendar in South East Asia. With a rider participation topping 160 racers from Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia, this was going to be a good one.
The track has undergone some changes in the last few weeks that have made it faster and more exciting. Word of the changes were … Read More »

We recently stopped in and caught up with young Perth gun, Mitch Delfs, and got the low down on his new wheels. This is Mitch’s second season with the team, but it was only this year that the team under went some massive sponsor (and thus) name changes. Okay Mitch, First up tell us about how your deal came about with … Read More »

WORLD CUP #7 - BROMONT

The race was held in sunny and warm conditions, but the riders had to battle with a course that was bone dry in some sections, and still very wet from seepage, in the forested areas. The off again - on again rain of the past week finally moved away overnight, with blue skies and bright sun appearing shortly before race time. The open sections of track dried out quickly, however, in among the trees the mud remained, forcing riders to carefully negotiate slippery rock gardens and rooted sections.
Mick Hannah (GT Bicycles), with 11 riders remaining, was the first to make … Read More »
