WORLD CUP #7 - BROMONT

The race was held in sunny and warm conditions, but the riders had to battle with a course that was bone dry in some sections, and still very wet from seepage, in the forested areas. The off again - on again rain of the past week finally moved away overnight, with blue skies and bright sun appearing shortly before race time. The open sections of track dried out quickly, however, in among the trees the mud remained, forcing riders to carefully negotiate slippery rock gardens and rooted sections.
Mick Hannah (GT Bicycles), with 11 riders remaining, was the first to make … Read More »

Barons Volksway Supports Kenda/Morewood

Barons Volksway in Pietermaritzburg were quick to step up and support the Kenda/Morewood team during their World Cup trip to South Africa. One phone call to Gareth Britz from Barons VW, and he managed to organise us a VW 1.9 TDI Touran which was more than capable of hauling the five man team and their kit to and from the track everyday. Besides being whacked by a speeding camera, we all really enjoyed driving the vehicle and had to play rock, paper, scissors before each trip to see who got to drive.

With excellent customer service and quality vehicles, I suggest you go and pay them a vsit, … Read More »

Polished by hand

If you were wondering how the Kenda/Morewood team bikes got their chromed finish, ponder no further. It takes hours of getting dirty and tedious polishing by hand. Pictured here are Pat and Leon having the time of their lives! Each bike takes about three to four hours to polish. 3-4hours, 10 bikes, you do the math!

Bos Suspension testing in Spain

The Kenda/Morewood team jetted off to Spain to do some suspension testing leading up to the first leg of the Nissan UCI World Cup in South Africa.

Patrick Morewood and Morewood design engineer, Fabien Lemasson joined the team to help towards getting the frame geometry right as well as discuss kinematics with Olivier Bossard for future designs on Morewood bikes.

Fresh new rides for Nathan Rennie and Mitch Delfs were professionally set up by the team and testing went well with the riders doing around 30 odd runs each, constantly giving feedback after each run helping towards getting the bikes properly dialled in.
