Hi Guys

Hope everyone is doing well.

After 3 weeks in Europe racing the World Cups I’m finally home to prepare for the World Champs in Australia in September.

The 4th Round of the Downhill World Cup was held in Fort William Scotland, as we all know that track is rough and long and really takes its toll on the bikes and the body. I was feeling really good in practice and knew i could put together a good result if i could hang on. In qualifying I had a pretty big crash near the top and never got a rhythm going again and ended up missing the top 80 by a few secs.

We headed to an invitational race in Germany, which was awesome. The organizers sorted everything out, hotel, race entry, rider lunches, dinners etc.

The track there was sort with loads of jumps which made it fun to get away from the fast rough tracks that

the World Cups had been throwing at us. Qualifying went ok, i was holding back a little not to crash and not make the final, i ended 23rd and knew i had a lot more in me for the final. Final run came and i felt good, but notice i was dragging brakes in sections where i should have been off them, i ended 20th which was back on a 2min track so not much place to make up lost time.

Maribor World Cup, one of the best tracks i have ever ridden, lots of roots and rocks.

1st days practice was good, but it rained the next day and they had to cancel practice and qualifying, so we had to qualify on the Sunday which made for a long day.

It must have been the hardest track to race in the mud, slipping and sliding every where. A crash in my qualifying run meant ill be watching again with a lot of the top boys doing the same thing made me feel a little better about not making the final.

So I’m home now, training hard for World Champs, and getting my head ready for the biggest race of the year.

keep in touch and thanks again for all the help and support.
